From heavy goods to morning goods
When Paul lost his HGV driving licence he lost his job. Hard-working and approachable, he hated claiming benefits but was struggling to find similar work and losing confidence rapidly.
To help Paul show others how determined he was to get back into work we referred him to a Fork Lift Truck course – which he passed with flying colours. We also referred him to Turning Point, an organisation that helps people disclose sensitive information in a positive way. Despite all this, Paul still felt he was fighting a losing battle. Something more radical was called for.
His Consultant suggested a position that was completely different to anything Paul had done before. But, as it offered full training, no experienced was needed. After thorough interview preparation, Paul landed the role of Trainee Baker with ASDA. It’s work he’s taken to with gusto and which has helped him develop a whole new set of skills.
