From single parent to working mum

Donna had been claiming income support for six months when she walked in to her local at work branch. Keen to regain her independence, but concerned that her lack of experience would hold her back – she’d previously just worked for her parents – she nevertheless had plenty of determination and was a great communicator.

Her Candidate Consultant carried out a detailed assessment of her strengths, weaknesses, aspirations and the sectors that would suit her circumstances. Together they settled on retail – a sector that offers a selection of part-time hours and which would allow Donna to juggle her home and working life more easily – and identified the perfect role in a local store.

Her self-belief boosted by the interview coaching we gave her, Donna convinced her potential employers she was ideal and they offered her the job almost immediately. Thanks to her motivation and the strong relationship she built with her Consultant, it took just three weeks for Donna to become a working mum.
