You want to be sure that the organisations you work with can combat unemployment, empower residents in some of the most deprived wards and build strong communities. We’re confident our proven track record will convince you that we can help increase economic activity, employment and inclusion in your area.
How do you reach disadvantaged groups? One of our key strengths is our ability to attract candidates to projects. Over the last 13 years, we’ve worked closely with the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, with colleges and training providers, and with local regeneration initiatives. These Referral Partners help us widen the pool of candidates we attract and reach key disadvantaged groups.
In addition we advertise on sites – such as Gaydar and Over50.com – that target particular minority groups, as well as on mainstream sites like Reed, Monster and Gumtree. We also attend fairs, put up posters, put leaflets through letterboxes and make sure our branches (each of them in the heart of the community it recruits from) are eye-catching and welcoming.
Back to topWe’re demand led. In other words, we market real, sustainable jobs by starting with what employers, not candidates, want. This means we realistically reflect the local labour market. We invest heavily in building relationships with employers so that we secure a good range of vacancies. Almost half our staff are solely employer-facing, and spend all day, every day, visiting, calling and networking. It’s taken us over 13 years to develop these relationships with employers and, in a lot of cases, our clients – who include some of the best employers in the UK – recruit primarily through us.
We also focus on altering local employers’ perceptions of unemployed people, and market candidates’ abilities and potential, not the disadvantage or background.
